We have an exciting opportunity available for a motivated, flexible and hardworking person to fill the full time position of Assistant Manager.
This position is a critical support and leadership role contributing to the overall management and day to day operation of our Aoraki Mt Cook hostel.
To be successful in this role you will have the ability to lead by example, use your initiative, have experience in positions of responsibility and preferably some experience of the hospitality industry.
The ability to speak a second language would be useful, but not essential.
Day to day areas you will cover include Reception, Cash Handling, Administration, Travel Sales & General Cleaning duties. You will also be responsible for the day to day operation of the hostel in the absence of the Hostel Manager.
You will be expected to be flexible with regards to working public holidays & weekends and able to be on call overnight.
You will need strong interpersonal and communication skills, intermediate Microsoft office ability.
Given the remote location of Aoraki Mt Cook we are looking for candidates who are social, independent, mature and self-reliant.

Applicants must have a legal right to work in New Zealand and a minimum of 12 months on their work visa.
